Week 66 from Quito Ecuador

We got some sad news yesterday.  Lynn’s sister passed away unexpectedly.  She evidently had surgery and ended up with major blood clots.  It’s hard to be away from home at times like this.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her two daughters who will miss her a great deal.

Elder Ospina has been given a new assignment and will get a chance to work in the field has last couple of months in the mission. He has been a great assistant.  We will miss him in the office.  We got a new assistant also this week. Elder Burleson, who was transferred here from a mission in Peru.  We are excited to be able to work with him.

Another change week has passed, busy as usual.  It’s always a good experience to greet the new missionaries.  They are a good group.

This was Sister Platts last week with us.  She leaves tomorrow night for home to Wyoming.  We will miss her.  Saturday we had a farewell party for her with all the sisters.

Today in church some of the women from Relief Society sang in Sacrament meeting.   At the end of Relief Society the Priesthood came in and gave us small plastic cups with a jello dessert in them along with a red rose.  Then the young women sang a song and gave us cupcakes.  It was a nice day.
